BREAKING: Car Slams Into White House Gate – One In Custody

Capitol police and the Secret Service are currently investigating a car that crashed into the exterior fence of the White House complex.

One person has been taken into custody by law enforcement.

D.C. Police and U.S. Secret Service are working to determine what led up to the collision, which happened shortly before 6 p.m.

Police say the 100 through 600 blocks of 15th St., NW between Constitution Ave. and G St., NW will remain shut down in both directions until further notice as they continue the investigation.

A car crashed into a security barrier along 15th Street NW at Pennsylvania Avenue near the White House complex before 6 p.m. Monday, a Secret Service spokesperson confirmed.
