Famed Hollywood Actor Explains Why He WON’T Attend Hollywood Events

Famed Hollywood film star Brendan Fraser is speaking out against Hollywood.

The 53-year-old actor revealed why he won’t attend Hollywood events like the Golden Globes and other awards shows.

Following his allegations of being sexually assaulted by a Hollywood film executive, the star was reportedly blacklisted from film sets after he spoke out.

Years later, Fraser made a comeback in Studio A24’s film “The Whale,” where he was nominated for a film award, but still won’t attend this year’s Golden Globes awards show.

Fraser explained that he is ‘not a hypocrite’ and cited his rocky relationship with Hollywood insiders.

Magazine editor Abdullah Yousef explained: “Basically, Brendan Fraser opened up about being groped by a big Hollyweird producer, so he got blacklisted from big roles for years. By sheer coincidence, his comeback movie is one where he plays a miserable, obese gay man in his death throes. Classic Hollywood sense of humor.”

GQ Magazine highlighted the allegations Fraser made against Hollywood executive Philip Berk:

And he shared a startling allegation: that a once powerful man named Philip Berk, a former president and member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the organization that stages the Golden Globes, had groped and assaulted Fraser at a 2003 luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel. (Berk disputes Fraser’s account.)

The experience, Fraser said then, “made me retreat.” He felt, he said, like “something had been taken away from me.”

The incident had colored his life ever since, in ways that sometimes felt small and sometimes felt very big indeed.

Fraser, who is reportedly a devout Christian, was the central figure at this year’s EPCOT Candlelight Professional Christmas event.

Daily Wire shared this statement from Fraser:

“I have more history with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association than I have respect for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association,” Fraser shared when asked if he would attend if invited.

“No, I will not participate. It’s because of the history that I have with them.

And my mother didn’t raise a hypocrite. You can call me a lot of things, but not that.”
