Former U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) was essentially forced to leave Congress as his popularity plummeted amid a campaign to denounce former President Donald Trump at every turn.
But that didn’t stop him from continuing his anti-Trump rhetoric, including a recent grade-school taunt that the 45th president smells bad. And the Trump campaign was quick to respond.
As HuffPost reported:
In a viral post over the weekend, Kinzinger, a vocal Trump critic, wrote, “I’m genuinely surprised how people close to Trump haven’t talked about the odor.”
“It’s truly something to behold. Wear a mask if you can,” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Trump, the front-runner for the Republican 2024 presidential nomination, reacted via a spokesperson.
“Adam Kinzinger farted on live TV and is an unemployed fraud,” the spokesperson said in a statement to The Independent. “He has disgraced his country and disrespects everyone around him because he is a sad individual who is mad about how his miserable life has turned out.”
Kinzinger’s petty post also sparked a lot of social media criticism.

If you were wondering just how much of a never-Trumper Kinzinger actually is, he said a couple of weeks ago that he’s be willing to give our current train wreck of a president another term in the White House.
According to CBS News:
Kinzinger said if the choice comes down to Biden or Trump in 2024, the answer is easy – it’s Biden.
“I don’t even have to hesitate. Do I agree with everything Joe Biden’s doing? No, of course not. He’s a Democrat. I’m an old-school Republican, I’ll say. But I believe he’s a good man, and I believe he’s focused on the Constitution. I believe he’s not looking for reasons to violate the Constitution like Donald Trump is. I wouldn’t hesitate at all,” he said.
Kinzinger also rejected Trump’s recent assertion that President Biden poses a grave threat to democracy.
“Anything that he puts on other people is usually what he himself is. I think he recognizes it. He tries to muddy the water by claiming that Joe Biden is the same thing. Well, there’s no comparison in terms of who’s a bigger threat to democracy.”
And here’s a clip of Mr. “You Stink” Kinzinger complaining about the mean things people have said about him for viciously attacking Trump for the past several years:
