Boston Mayor Defends Sending Out Invitations For Segregated Holiday Party

While leftists routinely imply that all conservatives are racist, they’re often the ones who want to divide society along racial lines … often by excluding Whites from job opportunities, mental health services, and even holiday parties.

The last example was on full display when the office of Boston Mayor Michelle Wu accidentally sent out an invitation to “electeds of color” to the entire city council.

Here’s what TheBlaze reported:

The office of Boston Mayor Michelle Wu mistakenly sent holiday party invitations — meant only for city council “Electeds of Color” — to the entire city council, prompting a white city council member to call the move “divisive.”

Denise DosSatnos — director of city council relations in the mayor’s administration — sent an email to the council’s “honorable members” that read, “On behalf of Mayor Michelle Wu, I cordially invite you and a guest to the Electeds of Color Holiday Party on Wednesday, December 13 at 5:30 p.m. at the Parkman House, 33 Beacon Street,” WFXT-TV reported.

About 15 minutes later, DosSatnos sent a follow-up email to council members apologizing for the previous message, the station said: “I wanted to apologize for my previous email regarding the Holiday Party for tomorrow. I did send that to everyone by accident, I apologize if my email may have offended or came across as so. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.”

The news quickly spread on social media, drawing accusations of racism and segregation.

Wu defended the party and called sending out invitations to the entire council an “honest mistake.”

As the New York Post reported:

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu defended holding a holiday party for “electeds of color” just hours before hosting the controversial gathering inside the city’s official reception hall Wednesday.

Wu admitted it was a mistake that every member of the Boston City Council received invitations to the controversial holiday party, and had already talked to those that were uninvited.

“We had individual conversations with everyone so people understand that it was truly just an honest mistake that went out in typing the email field,” Wu told reporters.

Wu, Boston’s first female of color and Asian American mayor, came under fire when her director of City Council relations, Denise DosSantos, sent an exclusive party invitation to all members of the City Council instead of just the select invitees.

Boston’s City Council is comprised of six minority and seven white members.

Here’s some local news coverage of her remarks:
