Here we go again!
A “mystery pneumonia” is tearing through China, leaving “many, many hospitalized.”
Hospitals in Beijing and Liaoning are “overwhelmed with children.”
Sound familiar?
The same group that rang the alarm in 2019 before the explosion of the COVID-19 pandemic is now warning about this mystery pneumonia in China.
It’s so bad that China is on the verge of canceling classes to stop the spread.

Well, we won’t have to worry about that until election season. Thank God our border czar has secured our borders. I’m sure everyone will be tested and vetted. https://t.co/BkoIB1NYEv

Below, a brief statement I wrote this afternoon about the "undiagnosed pneumonia in children in China". I'm aware of no new evidence having emerged since that would force me to update it. That said it would be good to have more information from China shortly. pic.twitter.com/53hGqBKTE7

This mystery illness seems to be impacting children.
However, there have been many teachers who have also gotten sick.
According to the Daily Mail:
Scientists today called for vigilance and transparency from China amid reports of a mystery cluster of pneumonia which has eerie similarities to the early Covid outbreak.
Hospitals in Beijing and 500 miles northeast in Liaoning are ‘overwhelmed with sick children’ with unusual symptoms that include inflammation in the lungs and a high fever but no cough, according to local news reports.
Dr Jennifer Nuzzo, an epidemiologist and director of the Pandemic Center at Brown University School of Public Health, told DailyMail.com the news was ‘alarming’.
She said we should ‘hold all countries to that same standard’, referencing China’s history of covering up new outbreaks, which happened in 2003 with the original SARS and in 2019 with Covid.
Dr Krutika Kuppalli, an infectious disease physician who is part of the WHO’s Health Emergencies Program, said testing and making those results public was crucial, adding in a post on X that the illness ‘could be anything’.
Dr Neil Stone, an infectious diseases specialist doctor at the University College Hospital in London, wrote on the platform formerly known as Twitter: ‘The last time I saw reports of an outbreak of undiagnosed pneumonia in China thought, naa…no big deal. [It] won’t amount to much.
ADVERTISEMENT‘That was in December 2019. Not making that same mistake again.’
The alert around China was issued late on Tuesday via ProMed – a large, publicly available global surveillance system that monitors infectious diseases.
It was a ProMed notification back in December 2019 that brought Covid to the attention of the world.
The most eerie part is that it’s ProMed that’s raising the alarm.
They’re the same group that first rang the warning bells about COVID.
With the 2024 presidential election right around the corner, many people are on edge regarding a repeat of the disastrous 2020 elections.
Thanks to COVID, Joe Biden campaigned from his basement and the Democrats were able to pull off some shenanigans.
This news breaks as the latest polls show President Trump demolishing Joe Biden.

The outbreak is spreading, but the true scope is not yet known.
Prior to the COVID-19 disease going global, China was notoriously secretive about its data.
Is the same thing happening now?
Per the Telegraph:
It was a ProMed alert in late December 2019 that brought a mystery virus later named Sars-Cov-2 to the attention of many doctors and scientists, including senior officials at the World Health Organization.
The latest post, based on a report from the Taiwanese outlet FTV News, said that hospitals in the capital Beijing and Liaoning – almost 500 miles northeast – were struggling amid an influx of children sick with pneumonia.
“Many, many are hospitalised,” Mr Wei, a Beijing citizen, told FTV News. “They don’t cough and have no symptoms. They just have a high temperature (fever) and many develop pulmonary nodules.”
In an editor’s note, ProMed said: “This report suggests a widespread outbreak of an undiagnosed respiratory illness … It is not at all clear when this outbreak started as it would be unusual for so many children to be affected so quickly. The report does not say that any adults were affected suggesting some exposure at the schools.”
The alert added that more definitive information is needed to determine the cause and scope.

With 2024 just weeks away, it will be interesting to see if this outbreak spreads or fades into memory.
Either way, it’s eerily similar to 2019, right before the 2020 shutdowns and disastrous election.
Will history repeat itself?
Or is this just another road bump towards the return to normalcy?
Only time will tell.
