President Trump just secured a new endorsement from the House Speaker himself.
On CNBC, Speaker Johnson voiced his full support of President Trump in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
This was largely expected and more of a formality.
Speaker Johnson and President Trump have always been very supportive of one another.
President Trump pushed for people to vote Johnson in as the Speaker when the GOP couldn’t decide after McCarthy was voted out.

CNBC shares more on the story:
“I’m all in for President Trump,” Johnson said on CNBC’s “Squawk Box.” “I expect he’ll be our nominee, and we have to make Biden a one-term president.”
ADVERTISEMENTJohnson suggested he had already thrown his weight behind Trump, saying, “I have endorsed him wholeheartedly.” But it was unclear when the Louisiana Republican had previously given Trump his official backing.
Trump had not officially endorsed Johnson when he became the Republican Party’s fourth nominee for speaker last month, amid a drawn-out scramble to replace ousted Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif.
But Trump gave what he called a “strong suggestion” to “go with the leading candidate, Mike Johnson, & get it done, fast!”
Trump has dominated the 2024 Republican presidential field, but it is unusual for a party’s leader in Congress to publicly endorse a candidate this early in the race, before the first primary vote has been cast.
Johnson endorsed Trump in 2020, and he backed Trump’s efforts to overturn his Electoral College loss to Biden. Johnson led a Supreme Court brief signed by more than 100 other House Republicans in support of a Texas lawsuit that aimed to discount the election results in key states that Trump lost.
It’s great to know that President Trump has someone so loyal as the Speaker of the House.
Once President Trump secures the Presidency in 2024, I imagine legislation will become easy to pass.

Reuters shares more on the new endorsement:
In the CNBC interview, Johnson defended Trump’s actions, saying the former president believed “deep in his heart” that the election was fraudulent, an assertion that has been widely disproved.
Johnson still has relatively low name recognition, so it is unclear how much his endorsement will matter to voters. The endorsement nonetheless illustrates how Republican lawmakers have come to embrace Trump, the frontrunner in the Republican presidential nominating contest, even as many had indicated they would look to move on after his 2020 election loss.
Speaker Johnson recognizing that the 2020 election was stolen is excellent.
We need more rational-thinking Republicans in our party.
