It’s not like anyone was looking at far-left soccer player Megan Rapinoe for religious advice in the first place, but she offered a doozy of a take after sustaining an injury just minutes into her last professional game.
According to Fox News:
In the post-match press conference, Rapinoe said she was going to get the “Aaron Rodgers treatment” to try and recover from the injury. She said she’d reach out to him or whoever did his surgery.
“I’m not a religious person or anything and if there was a god, like, this is proof that there isn’t,” Rapinoe said. “This is f—ed up. It’s just f—ed up. Six minutes in and I eat my Achilles.”
Rapinoe tried to make a play on defense when she went down with a non-contact injury. An emotional Rapinoe was tended to by medical staff before leaving the game, ending her night and career.
Unsurprisingly, social media users had a heyday skewering her absurd take:
Who thinks Megan Rapinoe is wrong, and that her injury is proof there is a God, AND he has a sense of humor! 😂😂😂 pic.twitter.com/HVEJX1cDFu

Megan Rapinoe says that the injury during her last career game is “proof there isn’t a God.”
I would argue that it’s proof there IS a God. Megan Rapinoe is the Devil, and got what she deserved.
As far as I’m concerned, it’s the best kind of poetic justice.

Megan Rapinoe says championship injury 'proof' there isn't a god.
On the contrary, it may prove there is a God.

“It’s not about me, it’s about Him and His glory. So that’s where it comes from, God made me like that.” – CJ Stroud

Rapinoe has long been an outspoken advocate for a variety of causes that many in the God-fearing community find utterly objectionable. Among the most notable examples is her demand that biological males be allowed to compete in, and dominate, female sports.
As National Review reported:
When Megan Rapinoe, a former co-captain of America’s national women’s soccer team, was asked whether she would welcome a “transgender woman” on the U.S. women’s soccer team — “even if that woman took the place of someone assigned female at birth” — Rapinoe was unflinching: “Absolutely.”
“‘You’re taking a real woman’s place,’ that’s the part of the argument that’s still extremely transphobic. I see trans women as real women,” the outspoken athlete and progressive activist told Time in an interview published on Monday. “What you’re saying automatically in the argument — you’re sort of telling on yourself already — is you don’t believe these people are women. Therefore, they’re taking the other spot. I don’t feel that way.”
“We as a country are trying to legislate away people’s full humanity. It’s particularly frustrating when women’s sports is weaponized,” Rapinoe added. “Oh, now we care about fairness? Now we care about women’s sports? That’s total bulls**t. And show me all the trans people who are nefariously taking advantage of being trans in sports. It’s just not happening.”
For good measure, here’s a clip of Rapinoe costing the U.S. team its chance at winning another World Cup earlier this year.
