Matt Gaetz: Speaker Johnson Proves “MAGA is Ascendant” And The “Swamp Is On The Run”

The successful election of Speaker Mike Johnson proves that “MAGA is ascendant” and that the “swamp is on the run,” according to Congressman Mat Gaetz.

Gaetz’s analysis is a reminder that despite the mainstream media narratives, President Trump and the MAGA movement are making a comeback.

The media was attempting to spin McCarthy’s ouster as “chaos” in the House.

But this is how democracy works.

It took McCarthy approximately 17 votes before he won the speakership.

Compare that to Trump-endorsed Johnson, who was elected unanimously on his first vote.

This proves that the Republican party still has President Trump’s back!

While the Republicans unite around America First principles, the Democrats are splintering.

Joe Biden’s age as well as the crisis in the Middle East have put the Democrats on high alert.

People are waking up.

Voters are beginning to realize that the economy was stronger, crime was lower, and the world was peaceful under President Trump.

We now have 3 years of a Biden term under our belt, and things are only getting worse.

The Epoch Times has more details on Gaetz’s comments:

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) on Wednesday declared the election of Rep. Mike Johnson (R-La.) as House speaker a sign of the strength of the “MAGA movement” in the GOP and the waning power of the “swamp.”

After a three-week leadership void in the House, the GOP conference chose Mr. Johnson as their speaker nominee; he went on to win 220 votes in the first floor ballot on Wednesday.

Mr. Gaetz, who led the motion to oust Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), the former speaker, touted Mr. Johnson’s victory as exemplary of the growing power of the “MAGA movement” on Capitol Hill.

“The swamp is on the run. MAGA is ascendant. If you don’t think that moving from Kevin McCarthy to MAGA Mike Johnson shows the ascendance of this movement and where the power in the Republican Party truly lies, then you’re not paying attention,” Mr. Gaetz declared during an interview on Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast on Wednesday.

The Floridian congressman shed light on the internal party deliberations that led to Mr. Johnon’s election following the short-lived race of Rep. Tom Emmer (R-Minn.), who withdrew his name hours after receiving the GOP nomination on Tuesday.

This unity is coming at a critical time for President Trump.

As political witch hunts continue to pile up, Republicans aren’t abandoning Trump.

Instead, they’re circling the wagons.

Is this the comeback and ascension that Gaetz is talking about?

Don’t forget, just a few weeks ago, the narrative was that Gaetz had “screwed up” the Republican party by ousting McCarthy.

Well, now, thanks to Gaetz, President Trump has a staunch ally as Speaker of the House.

This will prove troublesome for Joe Biden, who is also under investigation, but for far more serious alleged crimes compared to President Trump.

The Hill reports the rise of MAGA:

Gaetz has worked with Johnson on the House Judiciary Committee for seven years, he told talk show host and former Donald Trump adviser Steve Bannon during an appearance on his show Wednesday.

“He is sharp. He will be as respected in the homes of our most meaningful, righteous and patriotic donors as he will at the rallies with our most enthusiastic and meaningful activists,” Gaetz said.

“The swamp is on the run, MAGA is ascendant, and if you don’t think that moving from Kevin McCarthy to MAGA Mike Johnson shows the ascendance of this movement, and where the power of the Republican Party truly lies, then you’re not paying attention,” Gaetz said.

“They are crying, they are hand-wringing, they are bed-wetting over on K Street, because we have an honorable, righteous man who is about to take this position,” he continued. “He’s going to do great things for the country.”

Unlike McCarthy, who negotiated frequently with Democrats, Johnson appears to be rooted in conservative values and ideals.

This makes him a valuable ally for President Trump and the America First movement.

For now, it appears as if Gaetz’s gamble has paid off.
