Sometimes, when looking for new articles, I feel myself going insane at some of these stories.
But I think it’s important to highlight some of the insanity that goes on so it isn’t swept under the rug.
The Orlando Pride parade has made an 11-year-old transgender ‘girl’ the grand marshal.
The 11-year-old biological male has become a controversial topic due to the age they transitioned.
A transgender girl aged 11 became the youngest grand marshal of Orlando Pride parade

The Orlando Sentinel talks positively about the situation:
Eleven-year-old transgender girl Dempsey Jara, the youngest grand marshal in the history of Orlando’s Come Out With Pride parade, had a message Saturday when she took the stage at Lake Eola Park.
“Being transgender is not about a choice,” Dempsey said while wearing a princess-style gown. “It’s about being true to myself. It’s about embracing who I am even when the world tries to tell me otherwise. It’s about standing tall in my identity even when it’s really hard.”
ADVERTISEMENTHer mother Jaime Jara, 45, a schoolteacher, beamed beside her on stage. Off stage, she said her youngest child has always known who she was.
“She’s just always gravitated toward girl things, girls’ toys. We didn’t have any of that stuff at home. She has two older brothers,” Jaime said. “She’d say, ‘I’m a girl in my heart and my brain.’ She’s been on this journey since she was 5 and she’s living her best life.”
I don’t believe the story that they’re peddling.
I’m not sure about you folks, but at 11, there was never once where I was questioning what gender or sexuality.
This brilliant Tweet sums up how I’m feeling about this:
'Having an 11-year-old transgender kid is like having a vegetarian cat… We all know who’s making the decisions here.'

It’s sad, but in most cases, the parents force this on their children.
I can’t speak for this situation, as I don’t have all the facts.
But.
Kids generally do what gets them positive attention.
They don’t understand the consequences of what they’re doing.

The Daily Mail shares more details on the story:
Florida has pushed back on the trans movement under Governor Rod DeSantis who has banned gender-affirming care for children and branded sex change operations ‘mutilation’.
‘I mean they’re trying to do sex change operations on minors, giving them puberty blockers and doing things that are irreversible to them,’ the Republican governor said last year.
The state has also banned school lessons about gender identity or sexual orientation for children in younger grades, through the so-called the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill.
But an estimated 200,000 people turned out to the Orlando event and Dempsey who arrived from her home in Long Island, New York, insisted she would continue ‘standing tall in my identity’.
Many Republicans have pushed for similar legislation for this exact reason.
Listen.
You can do just about anything you want to your own body once you turn over the age of 18.
But these kids don’t understand the harm they do to themselves when they do hormone treatment at such a young age.
Hormone treatment, especially a full-blown sex change, permanently changes your body, and more often than not, these changes DON’T make the transgender individual any happier.
I feel bad for the child and hope they can live an everyday life.
