Republican favorite and President Trump endorsed Representative Jim Jordan will not participate in a third round of voting for the House Speaker position.
This news has left many Republicans furious that such a popular candidate has been removed due to the votes of certain RINOs in the House.
Rep. Jordan says he will support the plan to give Rep. Patrick McHenry temporary power to be the Speaker.

The Washington Post has more on the story:
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) won’t pursue a third vote for speaker and he will back a plan to expand the legislative powers of Speaker Pro Tempore Patrick T. McHenry (R-N.C.), according to people familiar with the situation who spoke on the condition of anonymity to detail private discussions.
After two failed votes, Republicans had made clear the conservative firebrand didn’t have enough support to win the speaker’s gavel. With House functions at a standstill, lawmakers will now move forward with a proposal to expand the powers of the acting speaker.
Jordan is dropping his bid for the time being, but remains the speaker designee and will reserve the option to hold a speaker vote at any time.

So, not all hope is lost.
It might be the case that Jordan is waiting to convince more Republicans before pursuing a third race.
That is the hope.
Regardless, this move has left many Republicans upset.

Jim Jordan is a SPECTACULAR Speaker candidate with +90% GOP Caucus support & unified Republican grassroots voter support
The pretentious, insufferable, fussy, pearl-clutching 20 Republicans have yet to make *any* coherent argument against Jordan & are giving the House to Pelosi

It’s not a good day for Republicans.
The 2024 election can not come soon enough.
If you live in the areas where these RINOs represent, carefully cast your votes.
The folks at Fox News have more on the following steps:
Potential challengers are waiting in the wings for Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, to step away from the race for House speaker after he failed to clinch a majority of support in back-to-back House-wide votes.
Rep. Jack Bergman, R-Mich., a retired Marine Corps general, is “prepared” to step into the race if Jordan falters, his spokesman told Fox News Digital. Bergman had supported Jordan throughout his run for speaker.”
Following the second round of voting, the General was approached by colleagues and has had conversations about a possible Speaker run — it’s becoming clear Rep. Jordan’s path is narrowing by the hour,” the spokesman said.
“We cannot go another day without a Speaker. He simply doesn’t have the votes — we need to have a frank discussion as a conference about a path forward. If as a conference we see he can’t get the necessary votes to become Speaker, General Bergman is prepared to step up.”
Though Rep. Bergman is a Trump supporter, I’m not sure he would be a great candidate.
Unfortunately, Rep. Jordan was a great choice to be the Speaker.
Additionally, many GOP House members have voiced concern about death threats sent to their families following their votes in the Speaker race.
As you may know.
Many were extremely upset that these RINOs have prevented a great Republican from becoming our next Speaker.
Now, of course, you should never threaten violence against anyone.
Bullshit.

All this has done is solidify these GOP members in their vote.
It hasn’t scared them; it just proved what they thought about Jim Jordan’s fan base.
I’m sure it’s a small minority, but one bad apple ruins the bunch.
