Gaza Killings: Israel And Hamas Are Blaming Each Other

Both Israel and Hamas are reported to be pointing the finger at each other for the massive blast that caused the Gaza killings.

As it stands almost 500 lives have been reported to be claimed.

This is what The New York Times  is saying:

Hundreds of people were killed by an explosion at a hospital in Gaza City on Tuesday night where thousands of civilians had been sheltering, a loss of life that ignited protests across the Arab world on the same day President Biden left for Israel.

The Gazan health authorities said the blast had been caused by an Israeli airstrike; the Israel Defense Forces said it was caused by a rocket fired by a Palestinian armed group that failed after launching. Neither assertion could be immediately verified.

The health ministry in Gaza said the number of casualties was expected to rise. Many civilians were sheltering at Ahli Arab Hospital, better known as Al-Ma’amadani, before it was hit. The Civil Defense in Gaza said medical teams were overwhelmed and unable to respond adequately because the hospital was so badly damaged.

The explosion left a grisly aftermath, according to videos verified by The New York Times and photographs distributed by news agencies. Bloodied and charred bodies were strewn across the courtyard of the hospital. Blankets, backpacks and mattresses lay nearby, traces of families who had come to seek refuge at the hospital after their homes were destroyed.

With both sides tossing the blame, people are trying to figure out who should be held accountable.
Who has more to lose or gain from this?
Some people are convinced Israel launched the attack.

Is it a coincidence the bombing happened a few hours after a ceasefire was ordered in Gaza?

However, the Israeli Military has denied all involvement in the attack.

CNN has more on this:

Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital was sheltering thousands of displaced people when it was bombed Tuesday, the Palestinian Health Ministry said in a statement. Many victims are still under the rubble, it added.

Palestinian officials blamed ongoing Israeli airstrikes for the lethal incident. But the Israel Defense Forces has “categorically” denied any involvement in the hospital attack, blaming instead a “failed rocket launch” by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad group, a rival Islamist militant group in Gaza.

“We did not strike that, and that the intelligence that we have suggests that it was a failed rocket launch by the Islamic Jihad, and I want to add, categorically, that we do not intentionally strike any sensitive facilities, any sensitive facilities, and definitely not hospitals,” Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus told CNN.

Could Israel be innocent and Hamas launched the rocket but, it misfired?

Who do you think is responsible ?
