Sen. Tuberville Calls Cops On Former CIA Director Over ‘Assassination’ Threat

Ex-CIA Director Michael Hayden hasn’t been shy about expressing his disdain for Republicans, but his recent social media posts about U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) really take the cake.

Tuberville has been stalling military promotions over the past few months in an effort to convince the Pentagon to change its controversial policy to compensate service members for expenses related to getting an abortion. Hayden reacted by insisting that the Alabama Republican should be “removed” from the “human race.”

As Just the News reported:

Former CIA Director Gen. Michael Hayden doubled down Tuesday on comments stating that Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) should be removed from “the human race.”

Hayden’s initial post on X, formerly Twitter, came in response to a post stating: “Should Tommy Tuberville be removed from his committee? Yes or No?”

Hayden, who led the CIA from 2006-2009, responded Monday: “How about the human race?”

He doubled down on his comments Tuesday, writing: “I was surprised to wake up this morning and discover that many MAGAnuts had lost their minds over my suggestion that ‘Coach’ Tuberville not be considered a member of the human race. I stand by that view. I’m wishing you all a nice day even the intransigent Tommy Tuberville.”

His remark was widely considered a direct threat toward the senator, and many social media users tagged law enforcement when expressing their outrage:

Tuberville also took the matter seriously and referred it to Capitol Police.

Per Fox News:

Tuberville responded on social media to statements made by Haden most recently.

“This morning, my office was made aware of a statement made by General Michael Hayden calling for a politically motivated assassination. This statement is disgusting, and it is repugnant to everything we believe in as Americans,” Tuberville said. “Given General Hayden’s long career in Washington, he must have known that, by making such a statement, he was committing a serious crime. His own efforts today to reinterpret what he said are only a tacit admission of guilt.

“If we still have a nonpolitical justice system in this country, then General Hayden will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. My office has reported this incident to the Capitol Police, and I expect that they will once again do an excellent job protecting members of Congress and bringing criminals to justice,” he added.
