Rumors are once again swirling that the 45th President is considering a run for House Speaker.
According to a new report from Politico, President Trump is considering meeting with Republicans ahead of the GOP conference to select the new House Speaker.
WLTR previously reported that President Trump hasn’t ruled out running for Speaker of the House following the ouster of the now-former Speaker McCarthy.
It should be noted that the former President has not confirmed if will be attending the conference or speaking with GOP lawmakers ahead of the meeting—he is merely considering it.

JUST IN: Donald Trump is reportedly considering a trip to the Capitol next week for the House Republicans’ Speakership forum.
The odds of him actually becoming Speaker are very low, but should he put his name in the ring anyways? https://t.co/1SOcBu8lGJ

Politico broke the story and confirmed:
Former President Donald Trump is considering a visit to the Capitol next week where he is open to pitching himself as a speaker candidate, according to a Republican familiar with internal discussions.
Caroline Wren had this to say: “I can tell you who SHOULDN’T be Speaker of the House….Never-Trump Tom Emmer In every donor meeting Emmer tells people NOT to donate to Donald Trump and that he won’t endorse Trump under any circumstance.”

NBC News reports:
Trump’s name was immediately floated by supporters after the successful vote to depose McCarthy, and a Trump adviser Tuesday night told NBC News that Republican members of the House had already been asking Trump to serve as an interim speaker.
“Members are trying to talk to the President about leading as the House works it out long term,” the adviser said in an email.
