Police Open Investigation Into Tragic Death Of Young Tech CEO


Baltimore PD has opened an investigation into the tragic death of tech CEO Pava LePere.

On Monday, The 26-year-old CEO was found dead in her apartment with apparent blunt-force trauma, and the Baltimore Police Department has since issued an arrest warrant for 32-year-old Jason Billingsley.

LaPere’s company released this statement on Tuesday: “It is with profound sadness and shock that EcoMap announces the passing of our CEO, Pava LaPere. We’ll honor her legacy; please keep her family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.”

The Baltimore Police issued this announcement as this article was being written: “BPD announces 1st Degree Murder warrant for 32 y/o Jason Billingsley in the killing of Pava LaPere. WATF & US Marshals are actively attempting to arrest him. Billingsley is armed & dangerous. Contact 911 if you come in contact with this individual.”

Officials said Billingsley is believed to be armed and extremely dangerous.

“We implore residents to be aware of your surroundings at all times,” Acting Police Commissioner Richard Worley said at a news conference.

“This individual will kill, and he will rape. He will do anything he can to cause harm.”

CBS Evening News reports: “An arrest warrant has been issued for a man considered armed and dangerous in the death of Baltimore tech CEO Pava LaPere. Investigators say the 26-year-old appeared to have suffered blunt force trauma.”

NBC News reporter Gary Grumbach explained: “The suspect police are looking for was released from prison less than a year ago, after spending more than a decade behind bars for sex offenses.”

LaPere, who graduated from Johns Hopkins University, was named to this year’s Forbes 30 under 30 list in the “social impact” category, according to her LinkedIn profile.

LaPere said she was “honored and humbled” to make the list.
