Chicago’s new mayor, Mayor Brandon Johnson, received heavy backlash after his latest requests.
Mayor Johnson is requesting that all wards in the city make room for immigrants to live in…
Tents.
What a shining beacon of hope and diversity this mayor is.
More from Fox News:
Democrat Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson is facing opposition from local leaders after he asked that “all 50 city council members” find space in their wards to help house “more than 200 migrants” in tents, according to a new report.
But some aldermen are pushing back on Johnson’s plans.
“I’ve looked in my ward. I just don’t have any available space. I have one of the most dense wards in the city,” Alderman Brian Hopkins said, according to ABC7 Chicago.
ADVERTISEMENTAlderman David Moore of the 17th Ward called on Chicago to help its own community first.
“I’m a believer in help your people first, help yourselves first, help your community first. Then reach out and help others,” Moore said.
But some aldermen have also voiced support for Johnson’s plan to house migrants.
“I think what should be made clear is because of the scale we are looking at, everyone needs to share in the responsibility,” Immigrant and Refugee Rights Committee Chair Alderman Andre Vasquez said.
These Democrat-run cities are going downhill quickly.
This results from an unchecked number of immigrants being funneled into cities.
The resident backlash growing over Chicago Mayor Brandon's $300M migrant tent city boondoggle. He says it will cost $300M – so, in Chicago speak, does that mean $600M? This is a head-scratcher for anyone who has survived Chicago's frigid winters. We already have migrant diarrhea… pic.twitter.com/FytDWO515g

#Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has asked all 50 aldermen to identify a 2-acre space in their wards that could accommodate large tents for migrants.
Here's an idea: some say there are 50 empty CPS schools that could be used. #BorderCrisis #Tuesdayhttps://t.co/65mZTohOkm pic.twitter.com/RlQDvfe0eL— Beverly A. Pekala (@PekalaLaw) September 12, 2023
“…camps for migrants throughout the city and move nearly 1,600 currently living inside Chicago police stations into large tents before winter …”
A tent city for migrants
Sanctuary cities are unsustainable. This is especially true for #ADOS communities https://t.co/SGbedaCJMl

More from CBS News:
Our sources told us that a few of the tents are set to go at 115th and Halsted streets in the West Pullman neighborhood – enough to house 1,400 people.
“Is building tents the long-term solution? Absolutely not,” Ald. Michael Rodriguez (22nd), “but in the meantime, if it’s dignified space to house people for the short term, I think it’s well worth our investment.”
Ald. Rodriguez’s ward in Little Village is served by the Ogden (10th) police District. Migrants lie on the floor of the district police station for comfort.
“You’ve got 3-year-old children who are sleeping on police floors,” Rodriguez said. “That’s an untenable situation.”
We have tried to reach out to the Mayor’s office for comment, as it is his plan. We have received no response.
Franza: “Is the city failing these people in any way?”
Vasquez: “It’s a challenging question to answer, because you have to think about the actual power and resources and ability the municipal government has in relation to how large this problem is.”
We do know that on Friday afternoon, the mayor will hold a meeting with the alders to talk about the plan. They will get to ask some of their questions, and we are told afterward, the news media will too

Democrats love seeing their once-thriving cities turn to chaos.
Oh sure, they get more illegal immigrants to vote them into office.
But at what cost?
Stay strong, people.
What the Democrats are peddling is not sustainable and WILL come crashing down.
