Escaped Pennsylvania Murderer Spotted On Doorbell Camera

Convicted murderer Danelo Calalcante who escaped from prison last week was spotted on a former co-worker’s doorbell camera near Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.

In the new video footage, Calacante had a new appearance that included a new set of clothes and was clean-shaven.

Hours after breaking into his former co-worker’s house, Cavalcante stole a 2020 Ford Transit vehicle.

Police later discovered the vehicle parked behind a barn in East Nantmeal Township and police have since set up a perimeter around the area where the van was found.

Last week Cavalcante went viral for escaping prison by crab walking up a wall in a Chester County prison.

Per NBC News:

Escaped prisoner Danelo Cavalcante has been spotted again and has changed his appearance, police said early Sunday as they try to narrow in on the Pennsylvania fugitive.

A sighting was reported late Saturday “in the northern Chester County area near Phoenixville,” Pennsylvania State Police said in a statement. Cavalcante had visited the home of a person he worked with years ago, who wasn’t home, Lt. Col. George Bivens said at a news briefing Sunday afternoon.

They added that Cavalcante, 34, had changed his appearance since he was spotted twice Friday within the Chester County search area.

“He is clean shaven and last seen wearing a yellow or green hooded sweatshirt, black baseball style hat, green prison pants, and white shoes,” police said in the statement.

A few hours later, police said Cavalcante was driving a white 2020 Ford Transit van with a refrigeration unit on the top and damage to the left rear fender.

The van was found abandoned in a field behind a barn in East Nantmeal Township on Sunday morning, state police said. Investigators are searching for Cavalcante in the area.

Here’s what CNN shared:

Police working to apprehend a fugitive who escaped a Pennsylvania prison nearly two weeks ago remain confident Monday he remains within Chester County, despite the fact he slipped through their search perimeter this weekend, forcing a “change in direction” for investigators.

“We don’t have a defined search area at this point,” Pennsylvania State Police Lt. Col. George Bivens said in a news conference Monday afternoon, nearly two days after authorities say Danelo Cavalcante stole a van, changed his appearance and was sighted more than 20 miles away before ditching the vehicle in East Nantmeal Township.

There have been no new sightings of Cavalcante since Saturday evening, Bivens said, but residents of East Nantmeal Township can expect to see a significant increase in the presence of law enforcement.
