Woke Mayor on Immigration Crisis “This Issue Will Destroy New York City”

Liberals are great at telling their voter base exactly what they want to hear.

That’s what New York City mayor Eric Adams did two years ago when he proclaimed that NYC would remain a sanctuary city.

His tune seems to have changed lately though, as he was suddenly hit with a hard dose of what the rest of us call ‘reality.’

The border crisis is having severe repercussions for states and cities nowhere close to the southern border, and that includes New York City.

NYC is being overwhelmed by migrants due to the open borders policy of the Biden Administration.

Mayor Adams has done a 180 in regards to his stance on the issue:

“This issue will destroy New York City,” warned Adams at a Town Hall on Wednesday.

This is a stark contrast to his previous stance two years ago…

Newsmax has the scoop:

“We have to feed, clothe, house, educate the children, wash their laundry sheets, give them everything they need, healthcare,” Adams said at a town hall, which had video of the event posted on Facebook.

“And this team here, we stated let’s do everything we can before we have to push it out to into neighborhoods and communities. Month after month I stood up and I said this is coming to a neighborhood near you. Well, we’re here.”

Adams said New York is taking in “10,000 migrants a month” and will ultimately have a “$12 billion deficit” due to the migrant crisis, calling on President Joe Biden to curb illegal immigration at the southern border.

“We’re getting no support on this national crisis, and we’re receiving no support,” Adams said. “And let me tell you something New Yorkers: Never in my life have I had a problem that I did not see an ending to. I don’t see an ending to this.

“This issue will destroy New York City.”

Here’s more on Adams’ change of heart from our friends at Breitbart:

Adams said no New York City neighborhoods, from Staten Island to Queens, will be spared from illegal immigration.

“It’s going to come to your neighborhoods. All of us are going to be impacted by this,” Adams said. “I said it last year when we had 15,000. I’m telling you now with 110,000. The city we knew, we’re about to lose.”

The remarks come as New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) has effectively cheered on illegal immigration to the region, suggesting repeatedly that it is a boon for employers who are looking to hire foreign workers.

This is a far cry from mayor Adams’ stance two years ago:

This is what happens when  you deny reality.
