President Trump in his latest Truth Social post hinted that Governor Ron DeSantis will drop out of the 2024 presidential race.
Trump posted on Truth Social “Rumors are strong in political circles that Ron DeSanctimonious, whose Presidential run is a shambles, and whose poll numbers have absolutely crashed, putting him 3rd and 4th in some states, will be dropping out of the Presidential race”
Trump continued and stated DeSantis was dropping out “ In order to run, in Florida, against Rick Scott for Senate..”

Per The Daily Mail:
Donald Trump said rumors are swirling that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is planning to drop out of the 2024 presidential race and instead launch a bid for the U.S. Senate.
The ex-President made his informal return to Twitter, now known as X, after more than two-and-a-half-years by posting an image of his first-ever mugshot on Thursday. But Trump is still primarily ranting on his own social media website Truth Social.
ADVERTISEMENTHe published a typo-ridden post on Monday against slamming his No. 1 GOP rival by claiming DeSantis wants to end his bid for the White House because of ‘crashing’ poll numbers. In the same post, Trump said that DeSantis instead will run against popular Florida Sen. Rick Scott after his two-term limit is up in 2026.
But DeSantis spokesperson Bryan Griffin said Trump’s claims of a rumor are just ‘fake news.’
‘Clearly, Donald Trump and his army of consultants are panicked about Ron DeSantis’ winning debate performance and the strong momentum that has followed,’ Griffin tweeted. ‘They know this is a two-man race, and we will carry this on to a win in the presidential primary.’
In response a spokesperson for DeSantis denied the rumor.

Per Forbes:
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ spokesperson denied a rumor from former President Donald Trump that DeSantis could drop out of the presidential race and run for Senate instead, days after the GOP presidential debate exceeded viewership expectations, even as Trump sat out the event, suggesting GOP voters could be looking for an alternative candidate.
DeSantis’s spokesperson for his political operation, Bryan Griffin, called Trump’s claim made on Truth Social earlier Monday “fake news,” alleging in a tweet “Trump and his army of consultants are panicked about [DeSantis’s] winning debate performance.”
Trump, using his preferred nickname for DeSantis, Ron DeSanctimonious, wrote on Truth Social Monday that “rumors are strong in political circles” that DeSantis—whose poll numbers have fallen in recent months—plans to drop out of the race to run for Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.)’s seat.
