Colorado Student Removed From Class for Gadsden Flag Patch

A 12 year-old student named Jaiden in Colorado Springs, Colorado was removed from class.

His crime? He had a patch of the Gadsden Flag on his backpack.

Students are allowed to place patches on their backpacks at this school.

Jaiden’s teacher felt it was inappropriate for the Gadsden Flag to be present at school.

Jaiden’s mother recorded an interaction with school officials which has gone viral on X (formerly Twitter).

The claim made by the school is that the Gadsden Flag is related to slavery and the slave trade.

For a quick history lesson, the Gadsden Flag originated from the Revolutionary War.

Christopher Gadsden was a delegate to the Continental Congress from South Carolina.

During the Revolutionary war, he created the flag to fly while he was a brigadier general.

The rattlesnake had been used by American colonists dating back to the 1750s.

This includes Benjamin Franklin’s famous politcal cartoon.

The disjoint sections of the snake represent the colonies who needed to join together for their freedom.

Basically, the teachers don’t even know American history.

Jaiden pointed out the hypocrisy of the staff with a picture of a faculty members car.

Promoting leftist propaganda is okay.

Displaying historically American sentiment is not.

In a surprising twist, Jared Polis, the Democratic governor of Colorado, posted a response to X supporting Jaiden.

Unfortunately, the school still remains steadfast in the removal of the flag.

Fox News reported the following:

(Jeff) Yocum (Vangard School’s Director of Operations) cited outlet The Conversation, which featured a quote from Iowa State University graphic design scholar Paul Bruski, who said, “Because of its creator’s history and because it is commonly flown alongside ‘Trump 2020’ flags, the Confederate battle flag and other white-supremacist flags, some may now see the Gadsden flag as a symbol of intolerance and hate – or even racism.”

It is a ridiculous response from a supposed educator.

Jaiden isn’t giving up through.

Ironically, Jaiden is now using the Gadsden Flag as a protest against the school.

A school that is unfairly removing his constitutional rights.

It seems reminiscent of Christopher Gadsden and the other patriots who created this country.

Jaiden might not be fighting the largest empire in the world, but he is fighting his personal oppressors.

Good luck to a real American patriot!
