Biden Admins Newest Attack on Home Appliances – Ceiling Fans

In another tyrannical march in the name of green energy or climate activism, the Biden administration is seeking to put stricter guidelines on ceiling fan energy efficiency.

Biden has stated that the regulations would save houses a whopping $39 over the lifespan of their new fans.

Yet the cost for manufacturers is going to skyrocket.

The New York Post has more on the story:

Ceiling fans are now the latest target in the Biden administration’s green agenda, sparking pushback from Republicans and manufacturers.

The Department of Energy is proposing a rule that would require ceiling fans to be more energy efficient, arguing the move would save U.S. households on energy costs.

According to the Energy Department’s analysis, the new rules would save households about $39 over the lifespan of the new energy-efficient fan.

However, the cost to manufacturers associated with the increased equipment will total $86.6 million per year, the department said.

Republicans on the House Committee on Small Business say if the rule goes into effect it could put small manufacturers out of business, given the costs the companies would incur in order to comply with the changes.

House Republicans are 100% correct on this.

All this is killing off smaller fan manufacturers and hurting larger ones.

The Biden administration seems incapable of making beneficial changes in this country.

It’s almost like it is intentional at this point.

Let’s turn it over to The Hill for more information:

Efficiency standards for home appliances have become culture war flashpoints under the Biden administration. The administration has restored a number of efficiency rules rolled back under the Trump administration, including for shower heads, water heaters and gas furnaces.

The most umbrage, however, has been reserved for efficiency regulations over gas stoves, beginning last year when Consumer Product Safety Commissioner Richard Trumka Jr. approved a request for information on hazards associated with the devices, which the CPSC formalized in March. Although Trumka has said there are no plans to ban gas stoves, House Republicans have introduced formal legislation this year to legally prevent such a ban.

Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.) invoked that earlier controversy to dismiss furor over the proposed fan rules, tweeting, “We are not coming for your ceiling fans. Has anyone lost their gas stove yet?”

We need President Trump back in office so he can undo the idiocracy of the Biden administration.

This is our future under Democrat leadership.

Prices skyrocket, businesses are offshored to foreign countries, and our way of life is destroyed.
