Leader of Russia Insurrection Group Wagner DEAD – Plane Shot Down?

Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of an insurrection group in Russia named Wager, is confirmed to have died.

The cause of death is a plane crash that was caught on video.

Check out the footage of the crash below:

As the Tweet says, it is unclear whether the plane was intentionally shot down or if the aircraft had a major malfunction.

Though not confirmed, many are theorizing that Putin is behind the crash.

This would prove unsurprising as the Wagner group originally started marching towards Moscow before ultimately withdrawing.

Yevgeny Prigozhin was reportedly killed Wednesday in a plane crash inside Russian airspace that also claimed nine other people’s lives. No concrete evidence of his death has yet been provided.

“I won’t be afraid to say that Yevgeny Prigozhin is a Russian hero,” a Wagner supporter told the news website Fontanka. “He’s a man of his word. He’s done a lot not only in the course of the special military operation, [but] in defending Russia’s interests in the world, the Syrian campaign [and] in Africa.”

Wagner soldiers have mourned the warlord’s apparent death, setting up memorials and publicly praying for him.

“Guys, we just have no words right now,” one anonymous man claiming to be from Wagner told AFP journalists, according to The Moscow Times.

“Let’s support Yevgeny Viktorovich [Prigozhin] and all our commanders. We need your support now,” he added.

What comes next for the Wagner fighters is unknown.

Many videos are coming out showing fighters mourning the loss of their leader.

Yevgeny Prigozhin − an ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin until launching a failed insurrection with his Wagner Group mercenaries in June − was aboard the private jet that crashed Wednesday northwest of Moscow, the Russian aviation agency Rosaviatsia said.

All 10 people on the flight from Moscow to St. Petersburg − seven passengers and three crew members − were killed when the plane came down about 185 miles from the capital, according to officials cited by Russia’s state-run news agency Tass.

Prigozhin, 62, was listed as a passenger but it was initially unclear whether he was on board the flight, which went down on a field in the Tver region. A Telegram post in the Wagner-linked Grey Zone channel said Prigozhin “died as a result of the actions of traitors to Russia.”

Unconfirmed media reports said the plane belonged to Prigozhin, who led his forces on a march that came within 120 miles of Moscow before turning around June 24. Prigozhin and the Wagner soldiers were granted asylum in Belarus as part of a deal to end the rebellion, but he was later seen in Russia and Africa.

The authorities said they were investigating. Unverified video footage shows what appears to be Prigozhin’s plane plummeting from the sky despite showing no previous signs of trouble, according to flight-tracking data. The Interfax news agency, citing emergency officials, reported early Thursday that all 10 bodies had been recovered and the search operation had ended.
