Hunter’s legal team is lobbying to have the IRS whistleblowers prosecuted.
The IRS whistleblowers helped reveal more damning evidence against Hunter that is believed to have led to special counsel Weiss issuing harsher charges against Hunter.
What is crazier is it’s believed that Weiss would have ended the Hunter probe earlier had it not been for the new information forced into the limelight by the whistleblowers.
Sure, ignore Hunter’s laptop that showed blatant illegal activity being conducted by Hunter and his corrupt dad!
CNN has more on that story:
Special counsel David Weiss appeared to be willing to end the Hunter Biden probe earlier this year without any charges for the president’s son, but seems to have changed his mind around the time two IRS whistleblowers accused the Justice Department of stonewalling the case and giving Hunter Biden special treatment, The New York Times reported on Saturday.
It’s unclear if Weiss actually changed course because of the whistleblowers.
The newspaper cited sources from both sides who were involved in the case, and hundreds of pages of non-public emails between Weiss’ prosecutors and Hunter Biden’s attorneys. Weiss’ spokesman did not comment for the story.
ADVERTISEMENTWeiss concluded by late 2022 that he did not have sufficient grounds to charge Hunter Biden with felony tax crimes, the Times reported. So, one of Weiss’ top deputies proposed to Hunter Biden’s team that they revolve the investigation with a single “diversion agreement,” where the president’s son would avoid charges if he promised to pay his back taxes and never buy a gun again, according to the Times.
An agreement was drafted in May, and the two sides haggled over language, though emails from prosecutors included a disclaimer that they “had not discussed or obtained approval” from their supervisors for the emerging deal.
It appears that prosecutors took that proposal off the table around the same time two IRS whistleblowers, who helped lead the investigation, accused Justice Department officials of politically interfering in the case, the Times reported.
The IRS whistleblowers actually called out the DOJ as being too lenient against Hunter and showing special treatment.
Though it has not been officially confirmed.
It seems clear that Weiss was forced to push for harsher charges against Hunter following the leak.
This has left Hunter’s legal team furious.
As seen by the plea deal, which was killed off in court recently.
Now Hunter’s legal team is targeting the whistleblowers to intimidate them into silence.
Check out what Jason Foster, the legal counsel for the IRS whistleblowers, has to say:
🚨🚨🚨@nytimes is reporting that Biden family attorneys are now pushing the Biden DOJ to prosecute IRS whistleblowers for sharing information with Congress.
These brave whistleblowers testified under oath and deserve protection.
This witness intimidation is unacceptable. https://t.co/42xRitIACp

After the plan was exposed in open court yesterday, you can bet that the threats and retaliation against our client will ramp-up.
They want to intimidate other potential #whistleblowers into silence.
Don’t let them.https://t.co/ZNfnWINxek

Just when you think the Biden family’s corruption and depravity can’t go lower, they find a way.

And the American people are expected to trust Weiss with this ‘probe’ on Hunter Biden?
This is a blatant cover-up in the making.
The Daily Mail shares more on the story:
The top Republican investigating Biden family corruption is outraged at a new report revealing that Hunter Biden‘s legal team urged the Department of Justice to prosecute IRS whistleblowers accusing the department of giving him ‘special treatment.’
ADVERTISEMENTAccording to correspondence obtained by the New York Times, Special Counsel David Weiss did not plan to charge the president’s son with any tax crimes until after two IRS whistleblowers came forward alleging illegal politicization of Hunter’s case.
In addition, the report states that Hunter’s legal team were disgruntled at the IRS agents who ‘affected the deal’ that fell apart in court last month – in part due to the allegations brought to light by the agents.
As a result, Hunter’s lawyers ‘contended to the Justice Department that by disclosing details about the investigation to Congress, they broke the law and should be prosecuted.’
‘Biden family attorneys are now pushing the Biden DOJ to prosecute IRS whistleblowers for sharing information with Congress,’ House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer fumed in response to the report.
‘These brave whistleblowers testified under oath and deserve protection. This witness intimidation is unacceptable,’ he continued on Twitter, now known as ‘X.’
Attorneys for the whistleblowers said that if it weren’t for their ‘courageous actions’ Hunter would never have been charged at all.
Comer, R-Ky., told Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo on ‘Sunday Morning Futures’ that Republicans are ‘facing obstruction like has never been demonstrated in the history of congressional investigations.’
‘Not only are we being obstructed by the Biden legal team, we’re being obstructed by the Department of Justice. We’re being obstructed by the FBI, by the Secret Service, by the IRS, by the Democrats on the House Oversight Committee. And the next question is will we be obstructed by the new Special Counsel David Weiss investigating this.’
As for next steps in the GOP probe, they will be focused on nailing down the Biden family’s overseas accounts.
You can tell how anxious the Biden family is getting over all of these probes.
They know that it is only a matter of time before the GOP is able to pin hard evidence against them.
I wouldn’t be surprised that President Trump’s indictments are direct retaliation over this.
A way to get the media off of Hunter and move it back onto President Trump.
Two new reports — one from NYT, the other from POLITICO — report the Biden DOJ was eager to drop the Hunter Biden investigation entirely without even misdemeanor charges. Only the 2 IRS whistleblowers prevented this.
Now, Biden’s lawyers want the 2 whistleblowers prosecuted: https://t.co/aMP1LWsPZj

BREAKING: U.S. attorney for Delaware David Weiss was planning on ending the investigation into Hunter Biden and letting him off with no charges until the IRS whistleblowers spoke out.
