That’s it—it’s all over for Bud Light, well, according to two analysts.
The analysts claim that they do not see any recovery for Bud Light—at least not in 2023, but it is hard to imagine that things will magically change for the brand in 2024.
What was once America’s top-selling domestic beer brand, Bud Light and Bud label products, continue to suffer from decreasing sales.
Zero Hedge provided the sales data courtesy of Citi Group: “No end to the destruction at Tranheuser Busch. “Bud Light weekly volumes were down -29%, with sales down 26% (average over the last three months c.25%)… There continues to be contagion to the wider ABInBev portfolio, with Budweiser, Busch, and Michelob still weak”

The heir to the Anheuser fortune, Billy Busch, recently made several media appearances to float the idea of buying back the company and “making Bud Light great again.”

The Epoch Times presented the aggregate sales data:
Recent sales data show that retail-store dollar sales of the brand dropped 26.1 percent in the week ending July 15 and 26.8 percent in the week ending July 22, compared with the previous year.
Meanwhile, the beer lost its No. 1 spot to Modelo Especial in May and June, according to figures.
Anheuser-Busch’s stock has been on a steady decline for the past 7 years, with the stock trading around $55 at the time of this writing.
Since the start of the boycott, Anheuser’s stock fell from a recent high of $67.11 to $52.86.
End Wokeness outlined conservative boycott victories in 2023: “Bud Light sales are still down 26%. Target just had its first sales drop in 6 years. Disney lost $1.9 billion at the box office over the last 15 months. Keep hitting them where it hurts.”

Newsweek quoted Billy Busch:
“I would have first said ‘watch out who the marketing people are that you hire’—they’re these young, woke … who want to push political agendas down your throat coming out of these woke schools.
“Coming out with an ad the beer drinker can’t relate to just doesn’t make any sense.”
