Who wouldn’t want to see two of the biggest elites in our country duke it out?
The internet was in an uproar when Elon Musk challenged Mark Zuckerberg to a fight.:
I’m up for a cage match if he is lol
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) June 21, 2023
And, of course, Mark Zuckerberg responded:
The saga began on Tuesday when a tweet about Facebook potentially developing a Twitter competitor garnered the ire of Musk, who replied, “I’m sure Earth can’t wait to be exclusively under Zuck’s thumb with no other options. At least it will be ‘sane’. Was worried there for a moment.”
In response, a lone Twitter user cautioned that Musk should “be careful,” as Zuckerberg “does the ju jitsu now.”
Not one to miss an opportunity for attention, the Twitter CEO replied, “I’m up for a cage match if he is lol.”
But now that Elon has continued to give excuses for needing surgery and other things.
Mark is under the impression that Elon doesn’t want to fight after all.
Saying this on the new social platform Threads:
I think we can all agree Elon isn’t serious and it’s time to move on. I offered a real date. Dana White offered to make this a legit competition for charity. Elon won’t confirm a date, then says he needs surgery, and now asks to do a practice round in my backyard instead. If Elon ever gets serious about a real date and official event, he knows how to reach me. Otherwise, time to move on. I’m going to focus on competing with people who take the sport seriously.
Seems like Mark is a bit upset that Elon is not down with the fight.
Perhaps Mark was looking forward to beating up Elon!
CNN has more on the story:
Mark Zuckerberg says Elon Musk “isn’t serious” about a cage fight and “it’s time to move on” from their proposed showdown, the details of which were never nailed down.
“Elon won’t confirm a date, then says he needs surgery, and now asks to do a practice round in my backyard instead,” the Meta chief executive wrote on social platform Threads Sunday.
“If Elon ever gets serious about a real date and official event, he knows how to reach me. Otherwise, time to move on. I’m going to focus on competing with people who take the sport seriously.”
ADVERTISEMENTZuckerberg, 39, had previously proposed August 26 for the fight, but said Musk, 52, hadn’t confirmed.
Last week, Musk wrote that the possible showdown would be streamed on X, formerly known as Twitter, which he owns. Musk said he was “lifting weights throughout the day, preparing for the fight,” adding “all proceeds will go to charity for veterans.”
Does this make Mark Zuckerberg a more likable person after all of this?
No.
He’s still a weird lizard/robot person who steals the data of millions.
Am I disappointed I don’t get to see these two fight each other?
Yes.
Let me know who you think would’ve won the fight!
