Donald Trump announced Tuesday that he expected to be indicted again by Special Counsel Jack Smith.
The announcement comes the day following Devon Archer’s testimony implicating the Biden crime family in its influence-peddling scheme.
“I hear that Deranged Jack Smith, in order to interfere with the Presidential Election of 2024, will be putting out yet another Fake Indictment of your favorite President, me, at 5:00 P.M. Why didn’t they do this 2.5 years ago? Why did they wait so long? Because they wanted to put it right in the middle of my campaign. Prosecutorial Misconduct!” Trump said Tuesday on Truth Social.
“Also, why are they putting out another Fake Indictment the day after the Crooked Joe Biden SCANDAL, one of the biggest in American history, broke out in the Halls of Congress??? A Nation In Decline!” Trump said in another post.
Members of the D.C. grand jury were witnessed leaving the federal courthouse Tuesday afternoon, intensifying speculation an indictment was imminent.
Donald Trump’s campaign released this statement regarding the indictment:
CNBC announced the charges in the J6 witch hunt:
Trump was hit with four serious felonies in the new indictment, accusing him of fraudulently trying to undo his loss in the 2020 election.
The first charge, conspiracy to defraud the United States, has a maximum possible sentence of five years in prison if convicted.
Two other charges — conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, and obstruction of an official proceeding — carry much heavier maximums: 20 years in prison.
The fourth charge against Trump, conspiracy against rights, has a maximum possible sentence of 10 years behind bars.

AP added:
It accuses him of repeatedly lying about the election results, turning aside repeated overtures from some aides to tell the truth but conspiring with others to try to improperly change vote totals in his favor. It says that on the day of the Jan. 6, 2021, riot, he attempted to “exploit” the chaos by pushing to delay the certification of the election results even after the building was cleared of violent protesters.
Trump’s claims of having won the election, said the indictment, were “false, and the Defendant knew they were false. But the defendant repeated and widely disseminated them anyway — to make his knowingly false claims appear legitimate, to create an intense national atmosphere of mistrust and anger, and to erode public faith in the administration of the election.”
Federal prosecutors say Donald Trump was “determined to remain in power” in conspiracies that targeted a “bedrock function of the United States federal government: the nation’s process of collecting, counting and certifying the results of the presidential election.”
The indictment, the third criminal case brought against the former president as he seeks to reclaim the White House in 2024, follows a long-running federal investigation into schemes by Trump and his allies to subvert the peaceful transfer of power and keep him in office despite a decisive loss to Joe Biden.
Trump is due in court on Thursday before U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan.
