Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Hospitalized

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, 73, was taken to the hospital on Saturday after losing consciousness and hitting his head, according to reports.

The incident reportedly occurred at his home in Caesarea.

The prime minister was fully conscious upon his arrival at the hospital, The Jerusalem Post reports.

Netanyahu reportedly also experienced chest pains.

His office cited ‘dehydration’ as the primary culprit for his collapse.

The Jerusalem Post reports:

He was brought to the emergency room from his home in Caesarea in the north of the country. However, he was fully conscious upon arrival at the hospital, located close to the central city of Tel Aviv.

He was said to be doing well and underwent a brain imaging procedure to ensure that his brain was not damaged by the fall, as well as an examination to ensure that his heart rhythm is normal.

According to a statement from his office shortly after 6 p.m., nothing out of the ordinary was detected during the medical evaluation, and the initial assessment points to dehydration being the main factor.

Just the News added:

He addressed the public from the hospital saying, “Yesterday I spent some time at the Kinneret with my wife, in the sun, without a hat and without water. Not a good idea.”

“Following the recommendation of the doctors, the Prime Minister continues to undergo additional routine tests,” his office stated.

Netanyahu reportedly had to undergo a brain imaging procedure to ensure his brain wasn’t damaged from the fall.

The prime minister said he “feels very good” after being admitted to the hospital.

“Thank God, I feel very good,” he said.

“I wish Prime Minister Netanyahu a complete recovery and good health. Feel Good,” said Opposition Leader Yair Lapid.
