According to President Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is quietly trying to withdraw from the 2024 Presidential race:
It’s no secret that the former President is crushing Ron DeSantis in virtually all the current polls.
Liz Harrington shared the results of a recent poll: “President Trump Holds 20-Point Lead Over Ron DeSantis in Florida GOP Primary; Crushes Joe Biden By Double Digits.”

Newsmax had this to say:
Trump’s claims about Cortes are not necessarily fully supported by Cortes’ tweets, including one in which he declares “electability is paramount,” linking to an analysis that shows Trump losing to President Joe Biden, but DeSantis beating him in Electoral College projections.
That did not stop Trump from pointing out his former staffer called him the “best presidential debater” in history.

The official Trump War Room account also took note of the recent poll numbers and explained that DeSantis is down 20 points in his home state of Florida.

Just The News weighed in on the Trump-DeSantis rivalry:
Trump’s state-specific attacks on DeSantis come in addition to his more generalized criticism, such as accusing DeSantis of trying to cut Social Security and raise the minimum retirement age.
DeSantis, meanwhile, is lagging behind Trump in 2024 presidential primary polls.
While Trump, on average, has always been ahead of DeSantis, his advantage has grown over the past several months.
