President Trump Issues NEW Statement

President Trump has issued a new statement regarding his planned rally in Council Bluffs, Iowa this Friday.

The 45th President of the United States announced an agricultural policy panel taking place before his remarks are to be delivered before a crowd at 1 PM.

President Trump has convened an agricultural policy panel before, and continues to have the support of the agricultural community, despite the community suffering the brunt of the U.S.—China trade war.

In 2018, the Trump administration rushed to deliver roughly $12 billion in aid to struggling American farmers and followed it up with a package of $16 billion additional dollars.

According to The Hill, the Trump administration delivered roughly $19 billion in aid to American farmers in 2020:

USDA will offer $16 billion in direct grants to farmers and ranchers to compensate for short-term drops in demand and oversupply driven by the coronavirus pandemic.

The department will also purchase $3 billion in fresh produce, dairy, and meat to distribute to food banks, community organizations and charities.

“These are great people, great Americans,” Trump said after announcing the program during a Friday briefing at the White House. “Never complain — they just do what they have to do.”

Successful Farming, an agricultural publication, had more on the aid provided to farmers via the Trump administration in 2018:

Over 80% of the 693 Iowa, Illinois, and Minnesota farmers surveyed from February through June said trade disruptions had an adverse effect on their net farm income in 2018.

Almost a third reported that their income dropped by over 20%.

But the Trump administration’s efforts to ease their pain have paid off.

The administration gave soybean, sorghum and other farmers $12 billion in assistance in 2018, which the vast majority of our survey participants found useful.

The survey was conducted before an additional $16 billion in payments went to farmers this year, both to offset trade losses as well as the effects of too much rain.
