Putin Says Zelensky Is Not Really Jewish But Rather A Nazi

Russian President Vladimir Zelensky during a recent speaking engagement stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is not really Jewish.

Putin told a crowd at an annual economic forum in Saint Petersburg “I have a lot of Jewish friends…They say that Zelensky is not Jewish, that he is a disgrace to the Jewish people.”

The president of Russia continued and told the members of the audience “This is not a joke and not an attempt at irony, because today neo-Nazis, Hitler’s disciples, have been put on a pedestal as heroes of Ukraine.”

Here’s the moment he said it:

Here’s what The Times of Israel reported:

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday claimed Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, who is Jewish, is viewed as a “disgrace” to his faith by other members of the religion.

“I have a lot of Jewish friends,” Putin told an annual economic forum in Saint Petersburg. “They say that Zelensky is not Jewish, that he is a disgrace to the Jewish people.”

“This is not a joke and not an attempt at irony, because today neo-Nazis, Hitler’s disciples, have been put on a pedestal as heroes of Ukraine,” Putin added, according to the TASS Russian News Agency.

Putin later noted that Zelensky was “a man with Jewish blood” before adding that “he covers for these freaks, these neo-Nazis, with his actions.”

“Why do you put Nazis on a pedestal?” Putin asked rhetorically regarding Zelensky.

Check out what the Jerusalem Post reported:

Russian President Vladimir Putin cast a public slur on Ukrainian President Zelensky’s Jewish roots on Friday, saying without evidence that some Jews considered him a disgrace to their faith.

“I have many Jewish friends. They say Zelensky is not a Jew, he is a disgrace to the Jewish people,” Putin said at an economic forum in St. Petersburg.

The Ukrainian president was born to Jewish parents in Kryvyi Rih and has become one of the most influential Jewish people in the world since Russia’s invasion of his country catapulted him into the international spotlight.

In 2020, Zelensky said that he had an “ordinary Soviet Jewish upbringing.” He explained that his family was not very religious because religion did not officially exist in the Soviet state. “I never speak about religion and I never speak about God because I have my own personal opinion about it,” he shared. “Of course, I believe in God. But I speak with him only in those moments which are personal for me.”

Are Zelensky And Soros Related?

Bet you didn’t expect to see THAT question today!

Me either, but it’s going viral online so I had to dig into it.

First let’s just start with some of the pictures and “face morphing” videos people are posting.

You have to admit that once you see it, the resemblance is fairly uncanny.

Ok, so what’s the truth?

Is it true?

The short answer is: I don’t know.

Just because pictures may look similar does not mean you can leap to that conclusion.

But I did notice a few very interesting things.

First, I looked at the “professional fact checkers”.

You know, the ones who are all too happy to tell you that anything possibly bad for the Elites is “fake news”.

Thank God we have the fact-checkers!

I’m always interested in what they have to say, mainly because I have found they are a fairly excellent gauge of the truth.

No, that’s not sarcasm.

What I mean by that is whenever they rush out en masse to “fact check” something, it usually means that something is true.

But that’s just my opinion.

You can draw your own conclusions and I’m happy to share the results of their “fact checks” here in this article so everyone can make up their own minds.

That’s what we do here.

Ok, so here’s something really interesting I noticed about the first couple of “fact checks” I saw…

It’s one of their oldest tricks.

They don’t fact check the underlying claim (in this case, are Zelensky and Soros cousins?) they fact check a derivative of the claim.

Let me explain…

Here’s the “Fact Check” from CheckYourFact, whatever that is:

Notice how all the emphasis is on whether a Pentagon Official made the claim?

That’s a TOTALLY different “fact check” than whether the two are actually cousins.

See how deceptive they are?

And of course the end-result of the “fact check” is that it’s “Not True”!

False!

Nothing to see here people, please disperse!  Please disperse!

Crickets about whether or not they are actually related.

Interesting…

Reuters did a similar “fact check” about the anonymous Pentagon official although they added one line to say they could find no evidence the two are cousins (NOTE: they don’t say they confirmed they’re not related):

Social media users claim the Pentagon released a statement saying that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy is a cousin of George Soros.

Examples can be seen (here) and (here).

The text in one post reads: “Volodymyr Zelensky is a cousin of George Soros. Pentagon official says.”

No such statement exists on the website of the U.S. Department of Defense (www.defense.gov/News/releases/ ) or its social media accounts (twitter.com/DeptofDefense , www.facebook.com/DeptofDefense , here ).

A spokesperson for the Office of the Secretary of Defense confirmed to Reuters via email the office had not released any such statement.

Reuters found no evidence that Soros and Zelenskiy are cousins.

One final “fact check” came from PolitiFact.

Have I mentioned how lucky we are to have the “fact checkers”?

Don’t know where we’d be without them.

Now, here’s what I found really interesting about the PolitiFact “fact check”…

First, they address the question head on, no BS about the anonymous Pentagon Official, but it was this section I found pretty hilarious:

They quote to a 2020 interview with Zelensky where he claims to “not be familiar with a person named Soros.”

Are you kidding me?

I mean, really, is that a joke?

Is this the Babylon Bee?

Does Zelensky really expect anyone to believe he is the President of Ukraine and he has never heard of George Soros?

You’re a player on the world stage and you’ve never even heard of George Soros?

And who says “a person named Soros” anyway?

What a weird way to phrase it.

I mean, that’s just not even a good lie.

So now let’s sum everything up….

We have two “fact checks” claiming the rumor is false, but not the underlying claim….just claiming that no anonymous Pentagon official ever made this statement.

Ok.

And then we have a third “fact check” where Zelensky hilariously says “I’m not familiar with a person named Soros.”

Oh, ok then!

Our mistake!

I bet he’s never heard of Bill Gates or Joe Biden or Anthony Fraudci either, right?

Right.

So there you go.

There’s your Fact Check.

We report, you decide.

I’d love to hear your thoughts.
