In a video posted by the San Francisco Sheriff’s Office, police officers and first responders raised the Pride flag on a flag pole with the American flag.
The police officers and first responders saluted the flag after raising it.
The video played Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” as police officers brought out the Pride flag and American flag. The video also included a caption that read “PRIDE 2023.”
According to the footage, the flag raising took place at County Jail #3.
Another caption in the video read “A call for unity, visibility, equality.”
San Francisco first responders wore pride patches on their uniforms.
The video ended with the Pride flag and the American flag together on the flag pole.

The U.S. Air Force followed up the San Francisco Sheriff’s Office with a LGBTQ salute of its own.

“As a retired Air Force officer I am humiliated by the state of the service. No credible American and no actual Airmen would salute anything but the American flag. Celebrating a military member saluting a pride flag is not just embarrassing it is traitorous,” one Twitter user commented.
