The man who went viral for putting his boots on Nancy Pelosi’s desk on January 6th has been sentenced to prison.
Richard Barnett a retired Arkansas firefighter who was convicted back in January for “convicted of felony charges of civil disorder and obstruction of an official proceeding”.
Barnett has now been sentenced to over 4 years in prison.
During the sentencing District Judge Christopher Cooper stated “For better or for worse, you’ve become one of the faces of January 6, and I think you’ve enjoyed that.”

“You’re too old for this nonsense,” Judge Cooper told Bigo. He said it was important to send a message to Bigo’s followers that this kind of thing couldn’t happen again, and there’d be consequences.

The man who was infamously photographed with his feet on a desk in then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office during the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol was sentenced Wednesday to four and a half years in prison.
ADVERTISEMENTRichard Barnett, also known as “Bigo,” was convicted by a jury in January of eight charges, including civil disorder. He faced up to 20 years in prison for the top charge of obstructing an official proceeding.
“For better or for worse, you’ve become one of the faces of January 6, and I think you’ve enjoyed that,” District Judge Christopher Cooper said during sentencing.
According to court documents, on January 6, Barnett spent 10 minutes in Pelosi’s office and only left when he was sprayed with chemical irritant. During that time, he put his feet up on the Pelosi’s desk and wrote a note to Pelosi, calling her a “b**ch.”

A retired Arkansas firefighter who placed his feet on Democrat Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) desk on January 6, 2021, has been sentenced to over four years in prison after he was convicted of felony charges of civil disorder and obstruction of an official proceeding.
Richard “Bigo” Barnett was given 54 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper and three years of supervised release and a $2,000 fine. Additional charges included theft of government property, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds with a deadly or dangerous weapon, and parading or demonstrating in a capitol building.
Barnett, 62, was accused of carrying a stun device into the Capitol, which he said had no batteries on January 6.
