A sinister new bill recently introduced to the Senate would create a federal agency that would police hate speech and misinformation on the internet.
The new bill was introduced by Democrat Senator Michael Bennet of Colorado and it’s called the Digital Platform Commission Act (DPCA).
The new bill states it would “create an expert federal body empowered to provide comprehensive, sector-specific regulation of digital platforms.”
JUST IN: Senate Democrats have introduced a bill that would create a federal agency to police Americans for ‘misinformation’ and ‘hate speech’.
So much for freedom of speech.
How is this even Constitutional? https://t.co/J7x9Yu5EWz

Becker News broke the story:
A new Senate bill would create a federal agency to police Americans’ speech for “misinformation” and “hate speech” if passed by the Congress.
The bill was brough forth by Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet and is dubbed the Digital Platform Commission Act (DPCA). As the senator announced, the legislation would “create an expert federal body empowered to provide comprehensive, sector-specific regulation of digital platforms to protect consumers, promote competition, and defend the public interest.”
ADVERTISEMENT“The new Federal Digital Platform Commission would have the mandate, jurisdiction, and broad set of tools to develop and enforce thoughtful guardrails for a sector that has been left for too long to write its own rules, with serious consequences for everything from teen mental health to disinformation to anticompetitve practices that have hurt small businesses,” the senator argued.

Per a press release:
Today, Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet and U.S. Senator Peter Welch (D-Vt.) introduced the Digital Platform Commission Act, the first-ever legislation in Congress to create an expert federal agency to provide comprehensive regulation of digital platforms to protect consumers, promote competition, and defend the public interest. Amid calls for regulation of artificial intelligence (AI) and social media, the senators propose a new Federal Digital Platform Commission with the mandate, jurisdiction, and tools to develop and enforce rules for a sector that has gone virtually unregulated.
“There’s no reason that the biggest tech companies on Earth should face less regulation than Colorado’s small businesses – especially as we see technology corrode our democracy and harm our kids’ mental health with virtually no oversight,” said Bennet. “Technology is moving quicker than Congress could ever hope to keep up with. We need an expert federal agency that can stand up for the American people and ensure AI tools and digital platforms operate in the public interest.”

There are already too many three-letter agencies, so it’s not in America’s best interest if there are anymore.
