It’s looking more and more likely that the 2024 presidential election will be a referendum on Joe Biden.
While it is true that this is often the case for the incumbent, things are looking quite bleak for Biden.
A new poll from the Washington Post and ABC reveals that Americans are overwhelmingly pessimistic of Biden’s mental and physical health.
Almost two-thirds of those polled believe that Biden has neither the physical or mental capacity to go another term.
63% of Americans believe Biden lacks the “mental sharpness” for another four years.
In the same poll, 63% believe that he isn’t in good enough physical health to run.
Of course this is no surprise to those of us who didn’t vote for him, but the fact that many on the left are now questioning Biden’s mental and physical fortitude is good news for the country going forward.
The same poll found much more positive numbers for President Donald Trump.
54% believe Trump has the mental sharpness for the job, and 64% believe he is physically capable.
This could spell doom for Biden next year.

Fox News has more on the concern over Biden’s mental and physical health:
President Biden is facing significant headwinds at the start of his re-election campaign, with the vast majority of Americans saying he doesn’t have the physical or mental capacity to serve another term, according to a new poll.
An ABC News/Washington Post poll released Sunday found that 63% of American adults do not think Biden, 80, has the “mental sharpness” it takes to serve effectively as president, compared to only 32% who believe he does and 5% who have no opinion. The number shot up nine percentage points since the same poll was conducted a year ago when 54% said he didn’t have the mental capacity for the job.
The poll found that 62% of Americans do not think Biden is in “good enough physical health” to serve either, compared to 33% who believe he is and 5% who have no opinion.
Respondents were asked the same questions about former President Donald Trump, 76, who is the current front-runner in the GOP presidential primary. Fifty-four percent said he does have the mental sharpness, compared to Biden’s 32%, and 64% said he has the physical health to serve as president, compared to Biden’s 33%.

MSN has more details on the poll:
More than 6 in 10 Americans say President Biden does not have the mental sharpness or physical health to serve effectively as president, according to a Washington Post-ABC News poll — a finding that underscores some of the stark challenges he is confronting at the outset of his campaign for reelection.
Though Biden, 80, and former president Donald Trump, 76, are close in age, the poll shows that Americans have strikingly different views about their capabilities, even as Biden’s doctor has declared the incumbent healthy. About a third of Americans (32 percent) say Biden has the mental sharpness to be effective in the White House, while 54 percent say the same of Trump. And one-third (33 percent) say Biden is in good enough physical health for the job; while 64 percent say that about Trump, the leading Republican candidate.
Overall, more than 4 in 10 Americans (43 percent) say in the poll that both Biden and Trump are too old to serve new terms as president when they would be 82 and 78, respectively on Inauguration Day. Yet here again there is a divergence between perceptions of Biden and Trump: About a quarter, 26 percent, say only Biden is too old, while 1 percent say only Trump is too old. Another 28 percent say neither candidate is too old to serve another term.
President Trump is looking fairly good in terms of presidential polls against Biden already, and as Biden continues to decline, that lead is only growing.
Trump has opened up a six point lead over Biden in @washingtonpost 2024 poll as Biden hits a new all time low approval rating of 36%. 63% say Biden doesn’t have the mental sharpness to be president & 62% say he isn’t in good enough health to be president. https://t.co/bF2qIBT7nV
