TMZ reported:
According to docs, obtained by TMZ, the actor’s manner of death was categorized as natural and nonviolent … citing respiratory insufficiency, pulmonary edema — aka fluid in his lungs — and acute heart failure.
ADVERTISEMENTThe doc also says he suffered from atherosclerosis — a thickening of the arteries caused by a buildup of plaque in the inner lining — something that often leads to diabetes and other health issues.
As we reported, 67-year-old Ray was filming the movie “Dangerous Waters” in the D.R. last year. A source close to him told us he died in his sleep.
Daily Mail added:
An emergency service team had rushed to the building but he could not be saved, with his body transferred to the forensic institute of Santo Domingo.
The esteemed actor is survived by his fiancée Jacy Nittolo, then-46, as well as his daughter Karsen, then-23, who he had with ex-wife Michelle Grace.
The actor had been spotted out and about in LA in March 2022 where onlookers said he appeared ‘noticeably pale’ and ‘needed help from the valet putting on his jacket’.
The source added he was ‘slow and steady on his feet’ and Nittolo had to help him by carrying his bags from the car to the hotel.
But he looked healthier in pictures taken at the start of May as he strolled through Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles with his fiancée.
Liotta had been a smoker but started appearing in adverts for Chantix – a brand run by vaccine guru’s Pfizer – in 2018, with one saying: ‘I tried to quit smoking for years on my own. I couldn’t do it. I needed help.’
His sudden death shocked fans as he was embarking on a huge resurgence in his career recent years, with him staring alongside Taron Egerton in Black Bird in 2022.

Pfizer Recalls All Lots of Chantix Due to Potential Cancer-Causing Impurityhttps://t.co/nYeeGNknaJ
— Ger Delaney (@GerardDelaney39) May 26, 2022
From the FDA:
Pfizer is voluntarily recalling all lots of Chantix 0.5 mg and 1 mg Tablets to the patient (consumer/user) level due to the presence of a nitrosamine, N-nitroso-varenicline, at or above the FDA interim acceptable intake limit. As alternative suppliers have been approved in the United States, Pfizer is undertaking this precautionary measure.
Long-term ingestion of N-nitroso-varenicline may be associated with a theoretical potential increased cancer risk in humans, but there is no immediate risk to patients taking this medication. The health benefits of stopping smoking outweigh the theoretical potential cancer risk from the nitrosamine impurity in varenicline.
Nitrosamines are common in water and foods, including cured and grilled meats, dairy products and vegetables. Everyone is exposed to some level of nitrosamines. These impurities may increase the risk of cancer if people are exposed to them above acceptable levels over long periods of time.
Liotta starred in an ad campaign for Chantix to help adults stop smoking.
The actor said he quit smoking with Chantix.
