Allow me to explain…
Is Tucker Carlson actually NOT fired?
Well, Megyn Kelly explains that he’s not fired at all.
In fact, she says according to her sources he is still under contract.
What Fox News did, according to Kelly, is took Tucker off the air, fired his staff and took away his access to his corporate email.
But they didn’t “fire him”.
They didn’t terminate his contract.
Again this is all according to Kelly, who is a decent reporter even if she did have a very strange left-turn a few years back.
So…what does this mean and why split hairs?
It’s real simple.
If he’s still under contract and if they are still paying him, they don’t have to air his show.
And if they keep him under contract and keep paying him, then he still has a non-compete and can’t go to a different company or start a podcast or do anything.

BREAKING: Tucker Carlson was NOT fired.
He is still an employee of Fox and they still have to negotiate an exit.
He is currently NOT FREE to launch a podcast or negotiate with other shows.

Here is Tucker just weeks before his firing going on the attack against the MSM…
I found this so odd at the time and wondered if he already knew he was leaving.
Watch here:
Tucker made this video before he was fired. He refers to the MSM as a "control apparatus."
He says: "Their job is not to inform you. They are working for the small group of people who actually run the world.” pic.twitter.com/wZ4Rpc2hyp

Our friends over at The Conservative Brief had more on the story:
Megyn Kelly ‘broke’ some news regarding Tucker Carlson’s departure on Monday from Fox News, saying that the top-rated former host can’t really go anywhere else at the moment. Kelly, a former Fox News star herself, says that Carlson remains under contract with Fox.
“I wanna, I think, break some news for you. Tucker Carlson hasn’t actually been fired,” she said during her Thursday podcast on SiriusXM. “He’s still an employee of Fox News Channel.”
Kelly went on to explain that Carlson was contacted by CEO Suzanne Scott and told that he would not be allowed to do any more shows and that he was denied access to the company email. She also said that now, the two would have to “negotiate an exit” from the network.
ADVERTISEMENTShe went on to claim that the call from Scott caught “Tucker completely off guard” but that he’s “not fired.”
“That’s my information, that he still needs to negotiate the exit and that right now he’s not free to launch a podcast or a digital show or negotiate with other employers at all because he’s still under contract,” Kelly continued.
She also said Carlson repeatedly attempted to find out why he was being taken off the air and was rebuffed by Scott. The firing came as Carlson had been negotiating a new contract that would have reportedly kept him at the network through 2029, according to an Independent report.
“To me, that is so disheartening,” Kelly went on, explaining that Carlson managed to succeed and help then network succeed through one of its most turbulent periods — the dismissal of long-time CEO Roger Ailes and the loss of two of the network’s top stars at the time, Bill O’Reilly and herself.
So, who will replace Tucker?
Tucker Carlson’s Replacement Chosen?
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, on Mars, you know Tucker Carlson is out at Fox News.
But what you may not know is who will replace him.
And that question ultimately may not matter, because if you’re like me you’re not tuning in.
The ONLY reason I watched Fox was for Tucker.
I used to like O’Reilly.
Then I tested out Hannity.
But both of them have gone farther and farther left and “company line”.
Then I found Tucker and I was always halfway stunned they allowed him on the air.
In other words, I am this Tweet:
Every young person I know who watched Fox News **exclusively** watched Tucker Carlson.
Young Democrats I know tuned in nightly because they thought Tucker was at least interesting and true to himself.
Tucker is a once in a generation talent.
There is no replacement.

Exactly right Benny!
But even though I won’t be tuning in, I am curious who they’ll put in his place.
No, this is NOT the real announcement but I did find this really funny:

And just one more time, no, that is NOT real, so to the one knob who will no doubt comment about that down below or email me….how do you get through life if you can’t tell this is fake?
Fake but hilarious.
Ok, but I do have a real update for you.
Who will take over Tucker’s time slot?
Well, it’s a work in progress and the first test did NOT go well.
Page Six reports that Kilmeade was tested first and bombed so bad he appears to be out, but rising star Lawrence Jones looks to have the nod:
Lawrence Jones, who made history as the youngest black solo host of a program in cable news, is stepping in to fill ousted Tucker Carlson’s slot on Fox News next week.
Jones, 30, who anchors “Lawrence Jones Cross Country” on Fox News on Saturday nights, will host in Carlson’s former 8 p.m. slot from Monday as the network continues with a rotating line-up of anchors.
Garland, Texas, native Jones joined the network in December 2018, and was named the host of the weekend primetime program “Lawrence Jones Cross Country” in January 2022.
A media insider told us, “Fox News is trying out a rotating list of anchors in Tucker’s spot — this week it has been ‘Fox & Friends” Brian Kilmeade — but it is significant that they have chosen Jones to step up so soon after Tucker’s departure.”
Lawrence Jones will guest host in Tucker Carlson’s old Fox News time slot next week, sources said.
Jones — who pulls in 1 million viewers and 108,000 in the demo in his 10 p.m. Saturday slot — lives in Dallas, but is in New York on Fridays and Saturdays for his show.
He works much of the week as an enterprise reporter for “Fox & Friends,” where he is the program’s national correspondent.
Jones, who worked in the Obama campaign when he was 15, reported live from Uvalde, Texas, after the mass shooting that killed 19 children and two adults, and has also covered the death of Tyre Nichols, the Idaho murders, nationwide protests following the death of George Floyd and the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on minority communities across the country.
He recently told the Dallas Morning News, “I never thought I would be doing this job. I think my classmates will tell you and my parents would say that I always had an opinion. I was always advocating for someone involved with politics in some form or fashion.”
The Daily Mail confirms:
Rising Fox News star Lawrence Jones has been tapped as the next rotating replacement for fired anchor Tucker Carlson’s 8pm weekday spot.
Jones, 30, will take over as the next temporary host of the rebranded ‘Fox News Tonight’ starting on Monday, following Brian Kilmeade’s weeklong stint as Carlson’s replacement, a network spokesperson told DailyMail.com on Saturday.
Since January 2022, Jones has hosted a weekend primetime show on the network, ‘Lawrence Jones Cross Country’, making him the youngest black solo host of a cable news show in history.
The self-avowed libertarian also spends much of the week as a roving reporter for Fox & Friends, traveling the country to cover major news events.
Meanwhile, conservative news outlet Newsmax is making a major push to woo Carlson, even floating the possibility that he could run programming for the entire channel, and not just his own show, sources told TMZ.
Carlson has been cryptic about his plans in remarks this week to DailyMail.com, and a video statement posted on Twitter, and is currently barred from formal job negotiations due to his Fox News contract.
While Newsmax hasn’t made any formal job offer, execs at the channel have been peppering Carlson’s confidants with informal proposals that he could take a leading role in rebranding the channel and overseeing programming, according to TMZ.
The Newsmax website has also spent much of the week publishing stories bashing Fox News and fawning over Carlson, with a banner headline on Saturday morning, citing a poll, reading: ‘Tucker Carlson More Popular Than Fox News.’
Carlson, 53, reportedly made up to $20 million annually at Fox News as the channel’s highest-rated primetime host.
I have to say, I like Jones.
I like that he’s a Libertarian, it’s noticeable.
He’s not a replacement for Tucker, but then again no one is.
Jones may be the best option they have.
