Governor Ron DeSantis has taken unprecedented actions to ensure that parents in Florida have a right to keep their children away from sexual content—of any kind.
As part of those ongoing policy initiatives, DeSantis aims to prohibit children from going to LGBTQ pride parades—something no one should find controversial given the highly charged sexual atmosphere at these events.
In response to the measure, the Florida LGBTQ group “Pride Alliance of the Treasure Coast” canceled its pride parade; causing many to ask: why would they do something like this?
Why is having children in attendance so important to the Pride Alliance of the Treasure Coast?

According to The Post Millennial:
The news comes after the Florida House sent a bill to Desantis that is set to ban children from attending adult-oriented performances, which is expected to include drag shows.
WFLA reported that the bill defines “adult live performances” as “any show, exhibition, or other presentation that is performed in front of a live audience and in whole or in part, depicts or simulates nudity, sexual conduct, sexual excitement, specific sexual activities, … lewd conduct, or the lewd exposure of prosthetic or imitation genitals or breasts.”
The Pride Alliance of the Treasure Coast said that the decision to change this Saturday's Pridefest events was made after multiple conversations with Port St. Lucie officials. https://t.co/9DDcX4ixpa

Maybe just don't be a pedo?
Y'all do know that the bill in Florida is literally just to give parents more control over what their kids are learning & to stop kids from being saturated in LGBTQ stuff before they are even in puberty.
I wonder sometimes if y'all even read the bills pic.twitter.com/8Ec80uOgm0— tired (@tired_ofya11) April 22, 2023
CBS News adds:
The legislation, which awaits the governor’s signature, would allow the state to revoke the food and beverage licenses of businesses that admit children to adult performances.
The DeSantis administration has moved to pull the liquor license of a Miami hotel that hosted a Christmas drag show, alleging children were present during “lewd” displays.
