Joe Biden: “Let’s Go Lick the World?”

Joe Biden gave remarks Thursday in Dublin, Ireland at the Dublin Castle.

The White House resident is visiting the Emerald Isle to reportedly visit the home of his ancestors.

“I don’t know why the hell my ancestors left here. It’s beautiful,” Biden said.

Whoever runs Biden’s Twitter account, posted this Biden Family Tree that says he traces his roots to County Mayo and County Louth.

“It feels like I’m coming home,” Biden added.

If Ireland wants to keep Biden, we’ll accept that offer.

AP reported:

Biden arrived in the Republic of Ireland after an appearance Wednesday in Northern Ireland. He had planned to visit a cemetery in County Louth, but scrapped that because of bad weather. He spent a total of about three hours in Carlingford and Dundalk, about as much time as it took for round-trip drive from Dublin.

Biden is spending three days in Ireland on his first visit back as president. He planned to meet with Ireland’s leaders, address parliament in Dublin and attend a gala dinner on Thursday, and visit County Mayo, another ancestral area on the west coast, on Friday before returning to Washington.

He had visited in 2016, near the end of his term as U.S. vice president, with a much larger contingent of his family, including all of his grandchildren. This time he was accompanied by just his sister and son. His wife, Jill, remained in Washington.

Biden closed his address at Dublin Castle with: “Let’s go lick the world. Let’s get it done.”

Initially, I thought the clip was a deep fake.

But, it’s Joe Biden after all.

Any ridiculous comment could be true.

And the White House confirmed the statement by releasing the transcript from Biden’s address.

There’s nothing, and I mean this from the bottom of my heart — there’s nothing our nations can’t achieve if we do it together.  I really mean it.

So, thank you all.  God bless you all.  And let’s go — let’s go la- — lick the world.  Let’s get it done.   Thank you.  (Applause.)

Biden also had a noncoherent rant, saying “what the hell is a Biden.”
