Things have gone from weird to Twilight Zone!
Just a couple days ago, we brought you this story of a substitute teacher who went online to claim she was fired for refusing to “meow” back to a kid who identified as a cat.

Now?
The story advanced with a different woman, this one a parent addressing a school board.
This woman claims that litter boxes were installed in her children’s school.
Why, you may ask?
For the students who “identify as furries”.
Oh my.
Should we back up a second?
According to RAW Story:
According to the Morning Sun, a “furry” is “someone who role-plays or identifies as an animal, or an animal character with human-like characteristics.”
Ok, now that we’ve got that out of the way, let’s continue with the story…

And another version here:
At a Midland public schools meeting, a parent brings up “furries,” saying she “heard” at least one school in the district is providing a litter box for kids that identify as cats. The parent goes on to suggest this is part of a larger “agenda” nationwide. pic.twitter.com/fNxye7LPBL

And in case those get deleted from Twitter, a backup here on Rumble:
The superintendent of the school claims the woman’s story is “not true”.
From the Morning Sun:
Midland Public Schools Superintendent Michael E. Sharrow took to Facebook Thursday, addressing false rumors that litter box accommodations were being made for students who identify as “furries.”
“It is unconscionable that this afternoon I am sending this communication,” Sharrow wrote. “However, our Midland PS stakeholders may be confused about a false message/accusation that has resurfaced this week and is gaining traction in the social media realm.”
ADVERTISEMENTAccording to Sharrow, a rumor has spread “that litter boxes were provided within MPS student restrooms for those who identify themselves as ‘furries.’”
“Let me be clear in this communication. There is no truth whatsoever to the this false statement / accusation! There have never been litter boxes within MPS schools.”
Sharrow continued, “It is a source of disappointment that I felt the necessity to communicate this message to you.”
And Michigan Live also reports the woman’s claim is not true:
With a particularly noisome rumor making its rounds online, Midland Public Schools is allaying parents’ fears — no, there are not cat litter boxes set up for their students to relieve themselves in.
On Thursday, Jan. 20, Superintendent Michael E. Sharrow sent an email to students’ parents dispelling a rumor of litter boxes being placed in the schools for students who identify as “furries.”
“It is unconscionable that this afternoon I am sending this communication,” Sharrow wrote, “however, our Midland PS stakeholders may be confused about a false message/accusation that has resurfaced this week and is gaining traction in the social media realm.”
During a Dec. 20 meeting of the Board of Education, a community member stated litter boxes had been provided within students’ restrooms, Sharrow wrote.
“Let me be clear in this communication,” Sharrow wrote. “There is no truth whatsoever to this false statement/accusation! There have never been litter boxes within MPS schools.”
Video footage from the Dec. 20 Board of Education meeting shows attendee Lisa Hansen broaching the subject.
“I’m still wrapping my brain around this a little bit, but yesterday I heard something and I was stunned and today I’m equally stunned and a little bit upset,” Hansen began. “Well, not a little bit upset, a lot a bit upset, furious. I would use that word.”
Hansen said she heard students who identify as cats are allowed to use a litter box in at least one school’s unisex restroom.
ADVERTISEMENT“I am really disturbed by that,” she said. “I will do some more investigation on that. I know it’s going on nationwide. I know it is. It’s part of the agenda that’s being pushed. I don’t even want to understand it.”
So…who do you trust?
Is this woman telling the truth?
Is the school district correct?
Is there a cover up in process?
