Judge Merchan Loses It: Clears Courtrooom, Shouts at Trump Defense Witness GET OUT OF THE COURTROOM, NOW!

Is this the action of a fair and unbiased fact-finder?

Is this even normal behavior?

I’ll let you decide.

This happened yesterday, but I didn’t have time to cover it and definitely didn’t want to miss it, so we’re covering it now.

Take a look:

Even CNN is reporting on it and admitting this is quite strange:

Is it normal for a Judge to get triggered by a witness, get into a verbal sparring match with them, and then shout for them to get out of the Courthouse?

Any attorneys out there able to tell me if this is normal behavior you see?

My friends at TheGatewayPundit had these details:

Here is the exchange between Judge Merchan and Robert Costello courtesy of TGP contributor Paul Ingrassia who is inside of the NYC courtroom live reporting:

Merchan grows irate, begins EXCORIATING Robert Costello on the stand for making a few off-handed remarks and rolling his eyes during the testimony.

Merchan: Are you staring me down right now?

Costello: I’m not.

Merchan: GET OUT OF THE COURTROOM, NOW! GET OUT OF THE COURTROOM!

TGP’s Paul Ingrassia said the trial resumed after a delay following a fiery exchange between Judge Merchan and Bob Costello.

“Merchan is absolutely seething over Costello’s damning testimony. The type of treatment Costello, an experienced prosecutor who once worked for the US Attorney’s Office for New York in the 1970s and early 1980s, is receiving on the witness stand from the judge is disgusting,” Paul Ingrassia said.

“Merchan is visibly perturbed, condescending, and downright abusive of the witness on the stand. Outrageous behavior from a judge, and totally inappropriate for any courtroom! No decorum whatsoever!” Ingrassia said.

And from Fox News:

Judge reprimands Trump witness, clears court: ‘Are you staring me down?’

Judge Juan Merchan has cleared the court amid a confrontation with witness Robert Costello, who is testifying on behalf of former President Donald Trump’s defense.

The back and forth began with Costello audibly and visibly responding with disapproval to Merchan sustaining multiple objections from the prosecution concerning his testimony about Michael Cohen.

“I’m sorry?” Merchan said to Costello after one reaction before clearing the court.

“I want to discuss proper decorum in my courtroom,” Merchan said after the jury left. “You don’t say strike it because I’m the only one who can strike it.”

Merchan told Costello not to respond, roll his eyes, or react in any way to his rulings.

Prior to the jury returning to the court, Costello looked at Merchan, prompting the judge to ask, “Are you staring me down?”

Merchan then demanded members of the press be cleared from the court, but Trump delegates were allowed to remain.

The press and jury were later allowed to return before Costello’s testimony resumed.
