Trump Announces When He Will Select His VP, It’s Sooner Than Expected

President Trump has announced a timeline of when he plans to select his Vice President.

Trump told Fox 6 News “I’ll be picking, but probably not too much before the convention, which I happen to be having in the great state of Wisconsin.”

The Republican National Convention is set to be held in Milwaukee July 15-18.

In 2016 Trump selected Indiana Governor Mike Pence as his VP pick just a week before the Republican National Convention.

Trump has already made it clear he will not select Pence as his VP pick but is instead reportedly considering North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, Marco Rubio of Florida, Sen. JD Vance of Ohio, and Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina.

Per The New York Post:

Former President Donald Trump has laid out the most concrete timeline yet for when he might select his running mate for the 2024 Republican ticket.

“I’ll be picking, but probably not too much before the convention, which I happen to be having in the great state of Wisconsin,” the presumptive GOP nominee told FOX 6 Milwaukee during a campaign visit to the battleground state Wednesday.

The Republican National Convention will be held in Milwaukee July 15-18. Traditionally, the vice presidential nominee will address the delegates on the penultimate night of the gathering.

In 2016, Trump picked then-Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as his running mate in the final week before the convention, lending credence to the suggestion he will follow a similar timeline this time.

Check out what The Post Millenial reported:

Donald J. Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, announced on Wednesday that he would select his pick for vice president shortly before the Republican National Convention in July.

Speaking to Fox 6 Milwaukee, the former president said: “I’ll be picking, but probably not too much before the convention, which I happen to be having in the great state of Wisconsin.”

The Republican National Convention will be held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from July 15 to 18. It is tradition for the vice presidential candidate to address the delegates on the evening before the conference ends.

With potential VP contenders rapidly falling and rising day by day, it’s been hard to determine who exactly Trump has in mind to be his running mate.

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem was among the contenders, but reportedly lost her chance after she revealed in her book that she killed her dog named Cricket after luring him out to a gravel pit and shooting him dead, according to the New York Post, which cited allies close to the 45th president.
